Mannucci Droandi, Chianti Colli Aretini 2022

Mannucci Droandi is a family-run organic estate in Tuscany’s Chianti Colli Aretini DOCG. The winery is a collaboration between the Mannucci and Droandi families, with roots in Valdarno and Carmignano. Today, Roberto Giulio Droandi, his wife Maria Grazia Mammuccini, and their nephews manage the estate, focusing on sustainable viticulture and the preservation of ancient Tuscan grape varieties. Their vineyards, situated at 250 meters above sea level, benefit from optimal conditions for producing high-quality grapes. A blend of 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo, and 5% of other ancient Tuscan red grapes (which the family keep a secret!), this Chianti offers a vibrant ruby hue. The nose reveals aromas of ripe red berries, pomegranate, candied orange peel, and dried flowers. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with velvety tannins, showcasing a balance of fruitiness and subtle earthiness. Aged in oak barrels for a year, followed by three months in bottle, it delivers a harmonious and elegant finish.
