Tillingham, End Grain 2019

Ben Walgate grew up in rural Lincolnshire and having visited a biodynamic vineyard in Burgundy when he was young, had a vision of one day running his own in his native England. Now with 5 acres of vines planted outside the village of Peamarsh, Kent, and with plans for 30 more, Ben is realising his dream of making superb organic wine in his own backyard. Tillingham Endgrain 2019 is a blend of 36% Bacchus, 33% Madeline Angevine, 28% Ortega and 3% Müller Thurgau; the grapes are picked by hand and pressed by foot before being fermented in a mixture of concrete, steel and oak tanks. Brimming with elderflower, orange citrus and some ginger on the nose; the palate has a saline-mineral edge around a pronounced flavour of white peach.
