Te Whare Ra, Riesling D 2020

Meaning "The House in the Sun" in Maori, Te Whare Ra is a family run winery on New Zealand's South Island. Headed up by husband-wife duo Jason & Anna Flowerday, they have been making organic wines since 2003. Riesling D (for "dry") 2020 is exquisitely composed and finely scented; the delicately fragrant bouquet shows lime cordial, jasmine, lemon pith and crunchy apple characters, followed by a finely flowing palate that’s pristine and focused. It’s light on its feet with a saline texture backed by a perfectly pitched acidity, finishing persistent and gracefully slim. A great pair with shellfish.
