Judith Beck, Ink 2021

Passing down from father, Matthias, to daughter, Judith, in 2001 - the Beck family have brought a modern twist to a very traditional part of the winemaking world. Judith Beck now uses fully organic and biodynamic practices in her vineyard and winery; her low-intervention approach means the grapes speak for themselves and her Ink 2019 is no exception. Made from 90% Zweigelt and 10% St Laurent, it is dark ruby in colour but very fresh on the nose with aromas of cherry, cinnamon and clove. It is elegantly smooth on the palate with a juicy blackberry and white pepper finish. A soft, yet lively Austrian red and a great wine to try slightly chilled.
