Zweigelt
Zweigelt was only created in 1922, but is already competing with more established grapes. The best examples are from Austria, where Zweigelt wine is rich and deeply coloured; with common flavours of spiced cherry, raspberry and bay leaf. It’s a great grape on its own, but can be even better when blended with Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir.
