Starting life as a lawyer, Matt Fowles swapped the vitriol of the courtroom for the vineyards of the Strathbogie Ranges, which lie about 100km north of Melbourne, Australia. Sitting on a huge granite peninsula, they produce intense wines that are elegant and full of character. Are You Game Sparkling NV is made from 90% Vermentino with a dash of Chardonnay & Pinot Noir added to make a very approachable, easy-drinking sparkling wine. It has subtle, savoury notes of brioche and golden biscuit with a touch of lemon zest and a delicate flavour of strawberry and apple. A great wine for guilt-free popping and exploring the sparkling style beyond Prosecco and Champagne. Perfect as an aperitif, better with shellfish.
