Azienda Colle Stefano, Verdicchio di Matelica 2019

The Marchionni family have been producing wine in the terraced hamlet of Colle Stefano, nestled in the Camerino Valley of central Italy, since the early 1960s. They specialise in the production of Verdicchio, and with their Verdicchio di Matelica 2019 it is easy to see why. Bright yellow in colour; spiced notes of ginger, cardamom and sweet almond jump out of the glass on the nose and combine with the rich fruity allure of ripe nectarine and juicy peach on the palate. A deliciously nuanced wine to savour over rich fish dishes like herby salmon.
