Flag of Italy

Gaglioppo is a red grape which is grown in the mountainous region of Calabria, Southern Italy. The red wines it produces are soft, typically accented with flavours of cherry and spice. Gaglioppo is a distant cousin of the famous Sangiovese grape, which goes some way to explain the similar flavour profile shared between the two.
