Woodchurch, Classic Brut 2016

Graham and Donna Barbour found the perfect site for a vineyard in 2009 and planted 10,000 vines in 2010. The vineyard is 20m above sea level and has the perfect aspect for both growing vines and taking in the awesome scenery overlooking the ocean. Woodchurch released their first vintage in 2015 and now focus on producing award-winning sparkling wines. Their Classic Brut 2016 is a classic Champagne-style blend of 80% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier grown on the chalky soils of the Kent coast. Aromas of pear, honey and fresh hay moving to flavours of crunchy apples and peach on the palate. Refreshingly crisp yet with a lovely long biscuity finish. Awesome with shellfish.
