BOTTLE: Storm, Wild Air 2022

Storm Wines, led by winemaker Hannes Storm, is a boutique winery located in South Africa's Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Storm Wines embraces a minimalist, Old World-inspired approach, aiming to capture the purest expression of each vineyard site. Practices include small production, careful viticulture, and minimal intervention in the cellar, resulting in wines with distinctive personality and character. ​ Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the grapes for Wild Air are sourced from a small section of 20-year-old Sauvignon Blanc vines within the Ignis vineyard. The vineyard's stony, clay-rich shale soils and maritime influence contribute to the wine's distinctive character. Viticulture is conducted with meticulous, hands-off methods, and the wine is barrel-fermented and aged on lees for six months, resulting in a savoury, mineral, and food-friendly style of Sauvignon Blanc. ​
