Sarris, Robola of Kefalonia 2021

Panos Sarris’ love of wine was ignited while working in restaurants in Athens, and upon returning to his native Kefalonia he set up his own place. However his interest in wine continued to grow; so he studied, travelled and became a Master Sommelier in 2008, before making his own first wine in 2012. He now makes wines with his wife and children by his side. Robola of Kefalonia 2021 has a real focus on the grapes; with the farming coming first and taking a gentler more hands-off approach in the winery. It's a complex, food friendly wine; showing the sunshine of its Mediterranean home with a touch of fennel and a flinty, salty edge accompanying bright citrus and stonefruit notes. A fuller-styled white, it's great with robust seafood dishes like swordfish.
