Renegade Urban Winery, Alf 2019

One of the coolest wineries going, Renegade have been producing wine in the heart of East London since 2016. Making everything from your classics to the more avant-garde, Renegade put a real emphasis on the most important part of wine: the people. Each label shows the eyes of a different person who lives in the UK who each forms a key part of the rich tapestry that makes our island so special. Alf 2019 is made from 100% Castelão taken from old vineyards in Lagos, southern Portugal. This is a whole bunch & hand destemmed, wild ferment, unfiltered red that was aged in neutral old French oak barrels for 10 months, then left to bottle age for 12 months; full of blackcurrant with a natural overtone leading to leather, spice and dates.
