Pic & Chapoutier, Lieu-dit Le Pin 2016
Renowned French chef, Anne-Sophie Pic, and the imperious Rhone winemaker, Michel Chapoutier, have joined forces to create a range of gastronomic wines which are both off the beaten track and perfect to enhance any meal. Lieu-dit Le Pin 2016 is made from 100% organically farmed Marsanne, grown in granite soils and taken exclusively from the storied appellation of Saint-Péray. The grapes were hand-harvested and initially aged for 10 months in oak on its fine lees, followed by a further 36 months in bottle prior to disgorgement. A Brut Nature, it a gorgeously dry, rich, traditional-method sparkling wine. An expressive and complex nose of ripe peach, pear, praline and brioche moves to a creamy palate with delicate, smoky, salty notes on the long finish.
