Peirano Estate, Viognier 2021

Flag of United States

The Peirano family have been farming and producing wine in California's Lodi for over 5 generations. Boasting some of the oldest vines the region has to offer (Zinfandel over 130 years old!) they are all about refinement and making distinctively rich and balanced wines. The grapes for their Viognier 2021 were hand-harvested and aged in a mixture of French and American oak (15% new) for 10 months prior to release. Aromas of honeysuckle, guava and cream are complemented by a hint of toasty brioche. On the palate, lush flavours of fresh ripe apricots, lychee, vanilla and floral are balanced by flavours of peaches and butter on the unctuous, generous palate. This is a wine which pairs amazingly well with roast pork belly.
