Martín Codax, Albariño 2020

Martín Códax is a cooperative winery, meaning that instead of a single winemaker farming lots of vineyards, several smaller independent growers pool their grapes together to produce wine under one label. Founded in 1986, Martín Códax is named after a medieval Galician poet, with the winery still having strong links to local art and music across Rías Baixas today. Albariño 2020 is pale lemon in colour and marries elegant aromas of fresh herbs and blossom with notes of green apple and ripe citrus fruit. The palate is refreshing with a zesty acidity tempered by great fruit intensity and the classic saline edge which marks out great Albariño. This is a superb wine to pair with all kinds of seafood.
