L’eau du Nenuphar, Zardalou 2021

Alex L’eau is a careful and considered winemaker whose personality and sensibility shine through in his wines. He is interested solely in the indigenous varieties of his adopted home the Roussillon. His wines always boldly express the soil and climate of their origins whilst maintaining a delicate and almost technical elegance. Zardalou (meaning "apricot" in Persian) 2021 is a stunning orange wine made of a blend of Viognier and Grenache Gris. As the name would suggest, it is bursting with notes of juicy fresh apricot along with tangerine, pear & lemon. Medium-bodied, yet invitingly powerful in terms of flavour, it's a superb pair with hard, salty cheeses or south-east Asian cuisine.
