Gonzalo Grijalba, Gran Cerdo Blanco 2022

Gonzalo Grijalba has garnered a bit of a cult following across the wine world for his passion towards his wine and animosity towards those who didn't believe in his dream of being a winemaker. A real success-story, his Gran Cerdo (Big Pig) wines are "dedicated" to the bankers who turned him down for a loan when he was setting up his vineyard. Gran Cerdo Blanco 2022 is made from mostly Viura, with the remaining 20% or so a closely guarded blend of different grape varieties. It's a lovely soft, mineral white wine with great texture and balance. Plenty of orchard fruit flavours like peach, pear and apple move to a refreshing palate with a good lick of acidity. A great wine to enjoy as an aperitif or paired with shellfish.
