Frédéric Guilbaud, Muscadet-Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie 2020

Frédéric Guilbaud is a third generation winemaker, growing his fully organic grapes and creating wine at the family's Château La Bretonnerie in France's Loire Valley. Frédéric's goal is to bring the Muscadet wine style into the 21st Century, whilst still using traditional techniques and know-how passed down through his family and the region's top producers. Muscadet-Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie 2020 is of course (by law) made using 100% Melon du Bourgogne grapes. It is incredibly crisp, light & mineral on the palate and very, very drinkable. Aromas of lemon and crunchy green apples combine with touches of vanilla and honeydew melon. It's a superb wine to pair with all kinds of shellfish, particularly oysters.
