Familia Castaño, Organic Macabeo 2022

The Castaño family have been pioneers in the Yecla DO in south-eastern Spain for several generations, staying true to their roots by operating almost exclusively with grapes native to the region. One of the first wineries in the area certified as fully organic, they continue to be pioneers in producing wine in harmony with nature. The grapes for their Organic Macabeo 2022 (also known as Viura), was taken from vines at least 20 years old planted at 500m above sea level. Notes of green apple, pear and citrus moves to a pleasantly fresh palate with further flavours of lime, grapefruit and some stone. A wine which works great as an aperitif or paired with simpler dishes.
