Domaine Lagille, L'Inattendue NV

Domaine Lagille was founded in 1818 and is still in the Lagille family to this day, with current custodians and siblings, Vincent & Maud, heading up the winery. Located in the historic village of Treslon in Champagne's Montagne de Reims appellation, they represent everything we love about Grower Champagne - looking at themselves as farmers first and winemakers second. L'Inattendue NV translates as "the unexpected" and is a superb Champagne. Made from 100% Pinot Meunier, it combines roundness, fruit and finesse all in one. The grapes were grown on limestone soil, hand-harvested and aged on lees for 36-42 months prior to bottling. With 1.5g/l of sugar, this is a gorgeous Brut Nature which offers notes of lemon, baked apple, brioche, toast and cream. Equally at home as an aperitif, or paired with salmon.
