Deakin Estate, Merlot 2023

Deakin Estate was founded by Alfred Deakin in 1967, with a vision of making wines in the heart of Big Rivers, Australia; a wine region which covers the southwestern corner of the state of New South Wales. Producing all the grapes Australia does best, they are able to obtain amazing flavour without compromising on value, even when shipped all the way to the UK. Merlot 2023 benefits from all the warm, sunny climate and rich, fertile soils Big River has to offer to develop into a lovely, soft and smooth red. Juicy on the nose with notes of ripe cherry, blueberry, plum, and hints of chocolate. The palate is enveloping and silky, with smooth tannins and a soft acidity. A moreish Merlot and paired best with a BBQ.
