Clos Henri was founded by the team at Henri Bourgeois, one of the best producers of Sancerre. Now plying their trade in Marlborough, New Zealand, the Bourgeois family represents some of the most knowledgeable and award-winning organic farmers of Sauvignon Blanc on the planet. Their 2019 is a superb expression of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Expressing the full aromatics of the grape, they are able to combine centuries-old French techniques to the unique New Zealand terroir. Aged on fine lees and 10% new oak, the naturally high acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc has been mellowed, leaving gorgeously ripe citrus and stone fruit notes, along with the mineral flavours you expect from New Zealand's ubiquitous Greywacke stone soils.
