Château Laroque Margaux 2016

Château Laroque is based in the historic appellation of Margaux in the Médoc region of France. One of the last family-run wineries in the area, their vines are on average 40 years old and grown on the gravelly soil which gives Margaux wines their unique floral and fruity character. Their 2016 is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot; hand-harvested and aged for 1 year in a mixture of 30% new oak and stainless steel. It offers the perfect balance between the freshness and crunch of Cabernet Sauvignon and the rounded opulence of Merlot. The nose has aromas of ripe blackberries, cassis, violet and tobacco; the palate brings blackcurrant and plum, complemented by nuances of vanilla, mocha, and a touch of graphite. The palate is well-structured, with good acidity and long finish.
