Can Feixes, Negre Seleccio 2020

The historic Can Feixes estate dates its winemaking roots back to the 1500s. Nestled in an incomparable setting on the slopes of the mountains north of the Upper Penedès wine region of Barcelona. It forms an ecological environment where the different crops and the varied vegetation interact completely in a perfect symbiosis between the cultivated and wild, thus reflecting the best expression of biodiversity in agriculture. Negre Seleccio 2020 is made from a blend of Ull de Llebre (the local name for Tempranillo) and Merlot, both hand-harvested from 100% organically farmed vineyards and aged for 8 months in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness. The nose is rich in dark fruit flavours of blackcurrant, bramble, plum and cherry. The palate has more savoury flavours of oak and vanilla along with more fruit accompanying the medium-body and balanced tannins. A great wine to pair with lighter meat dishes.
