Birgit Braunstein, Pinot Blanc 2021

Birgit Braunstein's wines have a purity and frankness which only comes from superb winemaking pedigree; so it's not surprising to learn that Birgit’s winemaking family tradition stretches back to 1632. She now farms 22 hectares in the Burgenland - near the shores of Lake Neusiedl - where she grows a selection of both indigenous and international varieties. Pinot Blanc 2021 is taken from sites grown on limestone soils, so there is some great flinty minerailty on the nose along with flavours of soft pear, nectarine and a slightly almond note on the finish. A really food-friendly Pinot Blanc which is best paired with roast chicken or a flaky white fish.
