Angel Sequeiros, Albariño Lias 2017

Bodegas Angel Sequeiros is located in Condado do Tea, a region to the south of Rías Baixas. Very close to the Miño river, it sits just across the border from northern Portugal. Fertile with granite subsoil, facing south and sunny from dawn to dusk, it comprises 7.3 hectares of 100 year old vines planted solely for the purpose of producing exceptional Albariño. And Albariño Lias 2017 is just that; named for "the soul of the Albariño grape", it perfectly captures the fruity essence and freshness of this amazing variety. Fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature to capture all the aromas before ageing for 12 months on fine lees with weekly bâtonnage. It is an incredibly elegant wine but, most importantly, it's Albariño in its purest form and definitely one to savour.
