Alves de Sousa, Branco da Gaivosa 2021

Located in the heart of the Douro Valley, the Alves de Sousa family have been making wines in their 25 ha of vineyards named "Quinta da Gaivosa" now for 5 generations. Using a holistic approach to farming by combining nature, a shared history and a personal flair for indigenous grape varieties, Alves de Sousa proudly make properly authentic Portuguese wine. Branco da Gaivosa 2021 is made from a blend of Malvasia, Gouveio (Verdelho) and Arinto. A stunning fuller-bodied white wine, yet surprisingly refreshing with notes of crunchy green apples, lemongrass and peach. The palate is rich and enveloping, with supple flavours of oak, vanilla and more fresh citrus on the long finish. One of our favourites to pair with creamy Thai curries.
