Susumaniello is a grape native to Puglia, right in the heel of Italy’s boot. Whilst it’s much lesser known than the region’s famous Primitivo, Susumaniello is a grape well-worth seeking out for lovers of fruit-forward, rich, red wine. Roughly translating as “the donkey”, Susumaniello is known for carrying a lot of flavour in its wines.
