Müller-Thurgau
Müller-Thurgau is the result of an 1882 experiment, whereby a Dr. Herman Müller (who was from the town of Thurgau in Switzerland) crossed Riesling with Madeline Royale. Although the fruity white wines it produces have seemingly fallen from modern favour, Müller-Thurgau played an incredibly important role in rebuilding the German wine industry after WWII.
