Mourvèdre
Mourvèdre (also know as Monastrell and Mataro), is an ancient black-skinned grape variety native to the Mediterranean, but is now also grown throughout the New World. Mourvedre makes serious, heavy-hitting red wines: full-bodied, rich tannins and an undeniably powerful meaty, herby aroma. It’s most famous use comes in its role in the formidable Chateauneuf du Pape blend.
