Glera is the grape behind the sparkling wine of the moment: Prosecco. Traditionally mass-produced, Italian winemakers are beginning to move away from this and are now making aged and very complex Proseccos. Though most commonly grown in Italy, the grape, Glera, is actually of Slovenian origin, where it’s still used to make delicious, still wines.
