Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair, Bourgogne Gamay 'Les Deux Terres' 2022

Thibault Liger-Belair is a thoughtful, progressive Burgundian winemaker with deep family roots in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Since 2001, he has farmed organically and biodynamically, with a focus on purity and terroir expression. In addition to his celebrated Côte de Nuits holdings, he works with old-vine Gamay in Beaujolais, applying the same low-intervention ethos. His wines are precise, expressive, and rooted in a philosophy that favours gentle handling, minimal oak, and site transparency above all. Fresh, supple and quietly complex, this Gamay (85%) and Pinot Noir (15%) blend brims with wild berries, black cherry and a whisper of sweet spice. There’s floral lift and earthy charm, underpinned by soft tannins and bright acidity that give it both drinkability and poise. The Gamay brings vibrancy and crunch, while the Pinot adds polish and a silky glide. A refined, food-friendly red that punches above its weight - juicy, elegant, and unmistakably Burgundian in spirit.
