Babylonstoren, Babel 2023

Lying in the shadow of the Simonsburg and Du Toitskloof mountains of South Africa's Franschhoek Valley, the history of the sustainably farmed vineyards & orchards of Babylonstoren can be traced back to the 17th Century. A complex blend of 39% Shiraz, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec, 11% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 6% Pinotage, Babel 2023 opens with an aroma of pencil shavings and sweet tobacco with mulberry, cherries and dark chocolate on the nose. This leads to a balanced fusion of dark red berry and chocolate flavours with a soft texture and juicy, lingering finish.
